If you’ve followed our newsletters in the past, you might remember a couple we’ve befriended and are praying for their salvation. It’s a LONG story about their past but Jason is Mexican and Kristin is American. Drugs have taken a toll on Kristin’s mind but she seems to have come clean for a couple years now although she suffers from depression.
This past week we found out that Jason’s mother is very ill and appears to be dying from kidney failure. Some of the ladies in the church went last evening to visit Jason’s mother who was home from the hospital and resting. Beth was unable to go but her mother, Beth Hanna, did join the small group of ladies who went to visit. Here is what Beth wrote:
This afternoon Mary, Linda, Monica, Tania and I visited Kristin’s mother-in-law. Rosalva the mother-in-law is in bed, very ill, her kidneys are failing. She was friendly and talked about Kristin like she was her best friend – we get along well now, Kristin understands Spanish now, we can talk, we understand each other, etc. Kristin came a little later. I think things are getting better with her and Jason’s family. But it’s rough right now because the parents have NO MONEY, so are selling off some of their furniture. We watched the family loading up the dining room table and chairs into a truck today. We talked awhile, Kristin’s sister-in-law, Lorena, talked a blue streak, the mom talked a little, then I asked permission to pray for her before we left. She said she’d be glad to have us do that. So Mary prayed and then we left.
Join us in praying for Rosalva, Jason, Kristin and Justin that they’ll clearly hear the Gospel from all of us who are trying to touch their lives and that they will trust in Christ alone for the forgiveness of their sin. Rosalva probably won’t live much longer and she is a Jehovah’s Witness.
