"A Clean Well-Lit Place"

The library in our basement has been a wonderful resource for dozens of missionary families and homeschool missionary kids since 2005. However, the lighting down there isn’t the best and we seem to always be on the losing side of the “dust wars.”

So, a few days ago, Beth decided to open up our living room to remedy the situation. We now have a reading room where we once had a living room! All the kids’ board books, picture books, early readers plus biographies for all ages and high school level fiction are now located in the upstairs reading room.

Now our little students can come and enjoy a clean, well-lit place to look at books and develop their reading skills. We placed our sofa and love seat back-to-back in the middle and placed a throw rug on the floor in front of the picture books. If we can find a beanbag or two or some fun, soft alternative, the kids could even snuggle up with a good book on the floor. This was a great idea and as you can see from the photos, Cameron has found this to be a good spot for doing school work too.

I’ll be reading there soon…maybe you’ll come too!
