Final Co-op…FiEsTa!

Bethie and Lori Smith’s science class studied insects and birds this past semester so the piñata had drawings of a couple of birds that were covered in the lessons. The children did not seem to mind wailing on the piñata. I hope that only means they were anxious to get to the candy!

These kids are way too gentle in going after the candy…definitely gringos!

I think you can tell what this is supposed to be, right?
Of course, Teletubbies gone b-b-b-bad!

Every month this past semester we celebrated all the birthdays for that month at once. In this case we celebrated May, June, July and August birthdays (since we won’t meet again until some time after August). That covered just about everybody it seemed!

We finished off our party by watching a cute movie based on the book called “Summer of the Monkeys.” A little too cute for my taste but the kids enjoyed it…even though I couldn’t resist heckling it a few times for among other things the white outdoor dog belonging to the poor family in the story and that ran around dusty fields and hills and muddy bogs and was always perfectly showroom clean. Come to think of it the people characters were always cleaner than people who actually bathe every day. Nonetheless, the movie was cute if not a bit too glamorized.
