GWnsYM – West Texas

We stopped for sandwiches at a rest area on I-10 in West Texas yesterday.  I took a few quick photos while I had the chance.  We’re in Pecos, TX this morning and after a good breakfast and re-packing of the truck, we’ll be on the road north up to Carlsbad Caverns National Park before reaching our first destination of El Paso and a few days visiting with Beth’s brother and sister-in-law.

The drive to Carlsbad Caverns is about 100 miles and takes 2 hours.  We’ll do it in 1 hour without breaking the speed limit.  How is that?  Beth and the boys couldn’t figure out that simple riddle.  Easy…we cross from Central to Mountain time zone today along the Texas-New Mexico state line (I think).
