A Rare Event

We’ve seen a little rain here today.  That’s the first time we’ve seen any rain since our return to San Juan del Rio in early December.

It’s not unusual to not see rain here this time of year.  We do seem to see one day like this just about every January.  It’s always nice to see.  Our sinuses appreciate the moisture in the air.  It’s not a soaking rain and the van is still dirty (“missionary car washes” are rare here!).

I read last week that 5 states in northern Mexico have not seen any rain in 17 months.  That’s a severe drought.  We’re in a drought here too still, but we normally don’t see any rain of note until May or June or July or August!  (never really know…rainy season here is unreliable)

On the positive side of things (“glass half full”), we have abundant dust in the air and plenty of job opportunities for house dusting!  Praise God for that!  lol
