Discussions with Kids

Here with the house full of nephews and nieces, we never know what someone is going to do or say. Every day there’s something memorable.

Yesterday, it was the Del boy (age 4) and his fake Scottish accent saying, “Feast your eyes!” (when accompanied by a lifting of the bath towel from the back side while walking past out of the tub…he didn’t…but we had hopes!).

Today it was 9 year old Elia sitting next to me watching something with Bethie on her iPad. I didn’t catch what it was other than it was some 1 ton beast having killed 2 people in the Philippines (turned out to be a huge crocodile).

I said, “It wasn’t me, I’ve never been to the Philippines.”

Elia piped up, “My aunt has been to the Philippines.”

To which I replied, “Well, maybe it was your aunt then.”

“No, it wasn’t my aunt!”…pause…”Well, I don’t know how much she weighs.”
