Overheard and Underhanded

Today was the last chance we were going to have to get over to the Costco in Queretaro in order to buy a couch that is on a temporary sale.  We also had new glasses on order there that were ready for pickup.  We were excited about both of these things.

Of course, in order to buy a couch at Costco, we have to also visit Sam’s Club and Walmart.  Why that is, I couldn’t tell you.  But I guess it’s because it’s a 40 minute drive over to Costco and we have to do a U-Turn just to get to it and that takes us right in front of Sam’s and Walmart so we might as well get three stores for the price of three.

We did find things we needed in both Sam’s and Walmart.  Walmart was the big surprise winner this time.  We happened to walk by a small 50% off sale of frozen, whole, smoked turkeys!  Wow!  $30 pesos per kilo.  That came out to about $1.10 (USD) a pound.  Cannot beat that down here!  So, we now have a smoked turkey and no where to keep it.  I think that means within a few days we’ll be eating smoked turkey.

As we walked out of the Walmart I said to Beth, “Wow!  I didn’t know we’d be walking out of here with a turkey today.”  She smiled back at me and said, “I did.”

Gobble, Gobble.
