It didn’t.
The National Hurricane Center had been forecasting that Hurricane Ingrid would move into north-central Mexico (from the Gulf of Mexico) and turn southwest and bring us a lot of rain (inches). However, after coming inland, it went stationary around Ciudad Victoria and never turned southwest. It has dissipated and there is still heavy rain, but it is north of here.
Partly cloudy with some sunshine and patches of blue sky here today. Haven’t seen the sun for more than a few minutes for about a week so it’s a nice day and our normally drab brown landscape is rather green. Cameron noted that on the way to Geometry class this morning that it is nice to see so much green on the mountains (mostly shrubs and some grass).
Mexico is still dealing with significant flooding and flood damage in at least 9 states affecting hundreds of communities and cities. Over a million people have been affected with about 3 dozen deaths reported to date. Hard to get accurate and consistent figures and info but these generalities are probably reliable. We don’t live near any of the areas that are seriously affected.
