Luis David had his 4th birthday party this past Sunday. We misunderstood that we would have an opportunity to give a Gospel presentation but we figured it out by the day before that this wasn’t what they were thinking. Oh well. I bought some cool little “wordless book” bracelets and an evangicube that we’ll just have to use on another occasion.
Pretty typical birthday party pics. This is where Emmanuel and Maricruz as well as Lupe and Rocío live. It’s a large patio area surrounded by about 20 rental rooms. E&M have a large room with a separate narrow room that functions as a kitchen. L&R live in an L-shaped two-room apartment. None of the rooms have a bathroom or any running water. The common area has a place for hand-washing clothes as well as dishes, and then a few toilet rooms and a few shower rooms that all the tenants share.
- sorta opened this one a little early
- Justin
- the washing area makes a fun place to play
- squeezed almost everyone under our little awning
- Noé loved the pozole (hominy soup)
- a sneak peak of the two victims
- D doesn’t wear contact lenses so this must be hide and seek
- sweet baby Isaac
- the kids ran around “the square” in the patio a million times
- those two are ready for a beating…the piñatas that is
- he’s ready for the piñata…they are ALL ready already
- swings “like a girl” but that’s ok! 🙂
- this is how to suspend a piñata when there’s nothing to suspend it from
- Bethie’s finger…best teething-ring ever…just don’t pull it please
- B, Kristin, Rocío
- I think I know who these guys are
- the big moment!
- AHHH…RABIES! No…j/k…a “mordida” or “bite” of cake. Mexican tradition.
- apparently one doesn’t need a mordida to have a messy mouth!
- Cameron and Isaac
