Tuesday’s highlight (apart from a little father-son trip to Dunkin’ Donuts with D) was a visit with Tom and Dora Becker and their family. The Beckers have been missionaries with ReachGlobal for about 20 years as I recall.
Beth went to boarding school in Oklahoma with Dora way back when. I remember meeting them when we were first married which was about 20 years ago and then we ran into Dora here in NW Indiana once between then and now but we don’t remember when exactly.
It was really great to visit with them for a couple hours. Our boys were thrilled to spend time with other MKs and to get to be with some kids closer to their age level. (Their cousins here are ages 10 down to 6 so there is a little gap there.)
Anyway, even though we’ve only spent a few hours with the Beckers, we so enjoy our conversation and fellowship. The family of God and the missionary family in particular often comes with some built-in bonds that just appear when we’re together even though we really don’t even know each other very well.
Since they’ve ministered for so many years in the Czech Republic, I insisted on taking a pic with them and their homemade “Czech mix.”
