Being Valentine’s Day, we hosted a special party at our home today with our teammates who are present here in Mexico.
We got the kids pizza and breadsticks from Little Caesars and sent them to off to the TV room to give the adults a child-free zone for awhile. The adults enjoyed a menu of tasty tossed salad, fettuccine and chicken, steamed spinach and steamed broccoli, key lime cheesecake, cran-pomegranate w/mineral water and heart shaped mini-cran-pomegranate ice cubes, plus coffee and tea. Bethie worked hard to prepare it all and it was scrumptious!
My late Thursday night preparations paid off. We enjoyed making Valentines for our spouses, played a version of the Newlywed Game, read poetry to each other (some silly and some classic romantic), and played some other games. The kids were great and we sure enjoyed our time as couples and Beth’s mom who didn’t have a “date” but enjoyed our team fellowship just the same.
I forgot to take a picture of our little rose bouquets and bags with chocolates and caramels that we gave out, but here are a few pics of our party. It was really nice to take a break from routine and from some stressful times that many of us are going through with various things.
(just FYI…this was a poetic exercise rather than an inquisition..the candle is not actually right under her chin!)
